Little Lotus (poem)

winter can't last forevermore; reemergence is inevitable

Subterranean self
all winter long,
submerged in mud like a lotus tuber—
but this solstice nipped at my souls
for far more than a season alone.
Surely, this stirring soma will spur
and stand on its own two soles come spring,
muck still coating those eroded bones,
but Zephyr will breathe new life;
I will know Sun again
as if I were her long-lost son
finally found.
Her λουλουδάκι (loulouthaki),
she'll call me as she shines upon me,
her little lotus flower.
I really enjoyed this. I wish I had more of an analytic response, but I'm a bit foggy-brained today. 💜
