AM Flow (poem)

morning routines can be so rejuvenating

a sparrow perched on the brim of a tea cup
a sparrow perched on the brim of a tea cup

I've never really considered myself an "early bird". "Night owl" was more like it! But earlier rising has been growing on me thanks to my sun room, bird song, wind chimes, and jasmine tea. This is a poem I wrote this morning amidst that symphony:

Sip to sparrow's sonorous welcome, backed by corvids' tenor and wind chimes' soprano. Rays of gold land in tea just so, granting skin and soul elysian glow with each mindful meeting of lips to cup's brim. Scent of jasmine wafts into nose and fumigates into lungs. Avian song rises to a crescendo. Exhale garden— a fragrant oasis that now lives and grows within these bones and in the sun-room of house turned home.
